For Parents and Guardians
Bringing your children to volunteer with you can be an exciting family activity and a great way to broaden their perceptions of the community.
Tips to remember:
- As a parent or guardian, you must have an account in our system in order for a youth age 15 and under to accompany you at a project.
- All projects have a specified minimum age requirement that volunteers must meet.
- We require 1 adult volunteer to be present for every 4 youth ages 15 and under.
Getting Started:
- Before attending any of our service projects, all of our volunteers must first register as a HOBA volunteer by creating an online account.
- Your active account will allow you to sign up for any open opportunity on our Project Calendar. The green dot beside a project name indicates an opening. To find projects appropriate for ages 15 and under, click on "Search Projects" on the home page and click on the drop-down menu entitled "filter by project attributes" to select Good For Families.
- Sign yourself up for the project
- RSVP the youth for the project by emailing goodforfamilies@hoba.org, indicating the title of the project, the date, and the names and ages of the youth accompanying you.
